A rare opportunity exists for a Grain Research Leader to join our team based at the Rhodes Head Office and Kingsgrove site.

The primary responsibility of the Grain Research Leader is to manage, coordinate and action grain research and grain breeding projects. This will include liaising with an external research provider and collaborating with them on the various grain projects.

As the Grain Research Leader you will use your understanding of customers’ needs and market trends to recommend what grain programs can deliver competitive advantage to the business.

It will be your responsibility to manage and drive all grain breeding related projects. You will need to leverage internal and external resources to ensure project outcomes are met and ensure progress is continuously communicated to internal and external stakeholders.

Other responsibilities will include the creation, enhancement and management of grain breeding testing.

To be successful in this position you will posses:

·         Strong project management and communication skills

·         Great interpersonal and presentation skills

·         Hands on approach to management

·         Basic agronomical knowledge

·         Food Technology and / or Food Engineering knowledge

·         Experience with grain research

·         Relevant tertiary qualifications
