Location: Yatala QLD
Reporting To: National OHS Manager
An opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated and experienced OHS Co-ordinator to join our team at Yatala on a 6-month contract. The primary purpose of this position is to co-ordinate all OHS activities at the site and to develop and implement best practice OHS policies and procedures.
Key responsibilities of this role include:
· Maintain the OHS management system to meet legislative & Company requirements
· Develop and implement Allied Mills OHS policies and site procedures
· Carry out OHS audits, risk assessments and inspections and assist site with implementation of control measures
· Schedule appropriate OHS training for all employees and schedule monthly OHS Committee meetings
· Assist and liaise with Workplace Health and Safety Queensland inspectors as required
· Ensure incident reporting and investigations are completed within required timeframe
· Develop, implement and manage return to work plans for injured workers in conjunction with the Workers Compensation insurer
Key skills and attributes:
· Competent computer skills including proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite
· Strong organisational and time management skills
· Excellent communication skills
· Understanding of the relevant OHS legislation for Queensland
· Quality Management system for procedure development & implementation
· Reporting system and investigation of injuries and incidents
· Return to Work Coordinator trained
· Workplace Health and Safety Officer trained – WHSO Queensland
· Certificate IV in Occupational Health & Safety (desirable)
· Risk Management
· Internal Auditing
