history
Allied Mills was created with the October 2002 purchase by a GrainCorp/Cargill joint venture of the milling and mixing business previously owned and managed by Goodman Fielder. The Goodman Fielder business arose from the acquisition and integration in 1998 of the milling and mixing assets of the then Bunge Defiance Group of Companies. The acquisition of 1998 rationalised the assets of Goodman Fielder, Defiance Milling and Bunge Australia.
Each of these Companies and their predecessors dates back
to the early milling companies operating in Australia in the
1800s, which were formed from numerous take-overs of predominately
family owned flour mills of those operated by co-operatives.
Companies such as Geo. Fielder Co Pty Ltd, Gillespie Brothers
Holdings Ltd, Mungo Scott, Allied Mills, Bunge Australia,
White Rose Flour Mills, Defiance Milling, Sunshine Mills,
Murrumbidgee Milling Co-operative, McLeod’s Milling
and Great Southern Flour Mills all form part of our shared
heritage at Allied Mills.
